Britain Remade responds to the Government’s response to the Fingleton Review

Commenting on the Government’s response to the Fingleton Review, Sam Richards, CEO of pro-growth campaign group Britain Remade, said:

“When the Fingleton Review was published its conclusion was clear: Britain is the most expensive place on the planet to build nuclear power because our regulatory system is riddled with delay, duplication and gold-plating.

“The government’s commitment to deliver the Review’s recommendations in full is a big step forward and a huge win for common-sense nuclear regulation. We look forward to seeing the full implementation plan, particularly with regards to Habitats Regulations reform. If they get this right these changes will mean we never again see new nuclear reactors in Britain costing what we’re paying for Hinckley Point C and Sizewell C.”
