Responding to the introduction of the latest Ofgem Energy Price Cap, Sam Richards, CEO of pro-growth campaign group Britain Remade, said:
“After three consecutive increases in the Energy Price Cap, the news that a typical bill will fall by £129 a year will bring some relief to households still enduring sky-high energy costs.
“But energy bills remain significantly higher than the long-term average. The only way to deliver lasting reductions is to accelerate the rollout of clean, secure domestic energy.
“Whether it’s new nuclear power stations, onshore or offshore wind farms, or large-scale solar, Britain urgently needs to cut the red tape that delays building the clean energy infrastructure we desperately need.
“We also need a smarter, fairer energy system. Moving to local pricing would help lower bills across the country - not just for those who live near clean energy generation - because the system would run more efficiently for everyone.”
