Britain Remade responds to final 2025 GDP ststs

Responding to the latest GDP figures for 2025, Sam Richards, CEO of pro-growth campaign group Britain Remade, said:

“Today’s GDP figures confirm what businesses and workers already know: Britain’s economy is stuck in the slow lane.

“For too long we’ve accepted a system where it takes years to build the clean energy, transport links and homes that growth depends on. To get growth that millions of people can feel in their pockets, we need radical reforms to make it quicker, easier and cheaper to build the infrastructure Britain needs.

“One of the key drivers of the economy is housing, but for generations governments of all stripes have failed to build, locking millions of young people out of home ownership and stuck paying eye-watering rents. Unfortunately, despite the rhetoric, it is no different with Keir Starmer’s government.

“If we want higher wages, secure energy and thriving regions, the priority must be simple: stop delaying growth and start building again.”
