Commenting on government moves to stimulate private investment into new nuclear technologies, Sam Richards, CEO of pro-growth campaign group Britain Remade, said:
“If the Government wants to see all forms of new nuclear built quicker and cheaper they must implement all of the Fingleton Review’s recommendations in full. Without deep reform of nuclear regulation, planning and habitat rules, this announcement risks becoming another strategy that never translates into steel in the ground and jobs. The prize is huge, but only if ministers are willing to follow through with the urgent reforms needed to turn ambition into delivery.”
