Tell the Government: Cool Britannia. Let us have home air con.

Britain is getting hotter, with more heatwaves every summer. But it’s still far too hard to install air conditioning in British homes.

But Britain's overheating regulations treat air conditioning as a last resort in new build housing.

Summer’s never been hotter. Electricity has never been cleaner. It’s time to ditch these anti–air con rules, written for a world where summer was 25 degrees and our electricity was coal powered.

All over the world, air-to-air heat pumps keep homes warm in winter and cool in summer. Brits deserve the same comfort.

We’re calling on the Government to make these changes:

  • Allow all new homes to include air conditioning, not just as a last resort

  • Change home energy efficiency rules so people aren’t punished for installing the latest tech
